About Agriculture Production Department
Welcome to the Department of Agricultural Production(APT). This is one of the two Departments at Dodoma Institute of Development and Entrepreneurship Studies(DIDES).
- Career Opportunities for our graduate Our graduates are mainly employed as extension staff and crop production specialists by the government and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). Also, others are employed as tutors and teachers in middle-level colleges/institutes and secondary schools.
- Teaching The Department is reputed for providing high-quality education and skills to students. The department offers programmes in crop production and community development at both certificate and diploma levels. The department has over ten academic members of staff and three non-academic members of staff.
- Research in the Department The department undertakes innovative, creative and problem-solving research in crop production and innovations. The services ensure sustainable utilization and increased uptake of improved agricultural technologies among farming community members. The department is dedicated to bringing about scientific advancements and technological uptake in Agricultural production.
- Expected Outcome This diploma holder are market demanded in commercial farming, fertilizer industry, non-governmental organization dealing with agriculture, agribusiness and governments. Educated crop producers with business mind are produced in this programme
